Will other people be in the room with us?

Rest assured, we never mix you with strangers.   When you book a game with us, it is private. You will have the space completely to yourself.

Are minors allowed to play?

Minors are allowed to play our escape rooms only if two conditions are met: (1) they are accompanied and actively supervised inside the game by at least one parent or guardian of 18-yrs or older, and (2) they follow all instructions.

If any minors in your group break any rules, or if they are unruly and disruptive, your game will be ended immediately and you will have to leave the facility, without a refund, to avoid disturbing other guests.  We are not a daycare facility. Parents are responsible for the behavior and safety of their children.

Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a release of liability waiver. This waiver will be provided when you book your game.

Are your rooms scary?

No, our rooms are not designed to be scary. There are elements of intrigue, mystery, and adventure, but none of it is scary.

Are your rooms appropriate for all ages?

Yes, our rooms are appropriate for both kids and adults. We do not have anything involving gore, sexual content, or degeneracy in our rooms. All of our rooms are adventure-based and family friendly.

How do I book the lounge for a special event?

To book our lounge for a special event (birthdays, team building, etc), just call us at (818) 588-4480, email us at ArchitectEscapeRooms[at]gmail[dot]com, or use the chat window below, and we’ll help you set it up.

How difficult are your escape rooms?

By default, all of our games are challenging. But they are not impossible to beat, because the puzzles and mysteries make logical sense. There are no red herrings or irrationality in our games. With the right amount of team work, attention to detail, creative intuition, and ‘detective’ skills, some people can beat our games without asking for a single clue. That said, you can ask for clues at any time during your game, and you will be given just enough information to get to the next step on your own.

We allow the difficulty settings of our games to be customized upon request. For example, if you are bringing younger children who have never played an escape room, we can make adjustments so that the level of difficulty is more suitable for them. Our goal is not to make people lose, but rather to create an unforgettable, rewarding experience and sense of accomplishment.

How long do your games last?

Our games typically last about an hour.

What if I am late?

All arrival times for games are on a fixed schedule that cannot be altered. If you are late for any reason (even traffic), your game cannot be started, and no refund can be given. You must arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your game.

Can I reschedule my game?

Rescheduling a game is possible only if (1) the request is made at least 72 hours prior to the game start time, and (2) the new date and time that you request are still available.

My plans changed, can I have a refund?

There are strictly no refunds, under any circumstances. Even in the case of a no-show, there are no refunds.  Even if you make a scheduling mistake, or something over which you have no control causes you to miss your game, there are strictly no refunds, because when you book a game, others are prevented from purchasing it.  Before you book a game, please make sure you have the correct date and time selected.

What is an Escape Room?

An Escape Room is a real-life adventure game where you and your friends are locked in a room together and you must complete challenges, solve mysteries, and decipher clues to escape within 60 minutes.

I hate civilization and I like breaking things, should I book a game?

Nothing in our games requires force. If anything is broken, the game will end immediately without a refund, and the cost of repairs will be charged to your card.  If deliberate vandalism or theft of any of our property is observed, the game will end immediately and a police report will be filed.

Even if something is broken on accident, the game must still be ended as an insurance requirement — this is something we hate to do, so please be mindful of your surroundings. Treat the contents of the escape room as if they belong to your best friend.

I enjoy being rude and hostile, should I book a game?

Harassment, intimidation, or hostile behavior toward staff is never tolerated. If you display such behavior, you will be made to leave immediately and your game will be canceled without a refund. Our venue is reserved exclusively for courteous and kind people who want to have fun — and the Game Master is always right. If we even suspect that you might be hostile, combative, or prone to complaining, you will not be allowed inside, and you should not attempt to book a game with us.
