You’ve volunteered to join the Great Houdini in his most stunning performance of all time — a death-defying double escape!

Houdini is locked in a water tank with only enough oxygen to last him an hour.

You’re also locked inside of Houdini’s cleverly rigged Hideout which is full of surprises and mysteries. The walls are closing in on you and time is running out!

Use your wits to escape the hideout and save the Great Houdini within the hour, or both of you will meet a permanent fate!

"Challenging, Inventive, Fun"

Challenging, inventive, fun, and friendly. I’ve done quite a few escape rooms from various vendors, and I have to say that this experience (Houdini’s Hideout) was easily in the top 5. Not only was the room here well constructed, the puzzles well constructed, and the immersion nicely implemented, the staff (Josh, the night we attended) were friendly, communicative, and helpful. My two fellow escapees were experiencing their first room, and couldn’t stop gushing as we headed home afterward.
As an added bonus – the room descriptions on the website have the nice touch of showing the kind of environment and puzzle-solving skills needed for each room which allowed us to help pick the room that would have the best group experience. While I have seen other vendors’ websites rank a room’s difficulty, I’ve never seen that particular kind of breakdown and I very much enjoyed it.
I very much recommend The Architect’s rooms and I am looking forward to coming back and tackling the other two that they have now, as well as looking forward to the new rooms they have on the horizon.

"Crazy Fun Experience"

Took my son Tyler & family to Architect for his birthday. We escaped Houdini’s room w/ about 5 min to spare! It was a crazy fun experience & we all had a blast! Thank you to Josh our gamemaster, who even threw in a clue for Tyler’s Bday. Thank you also to Jon for the great customer service when I booked our room. I can’t wait to go back & experience their other rooms. I will definately be recommending Architect Escape Rooms to my friends!

"Best One I've Ever Done!"

This place was just wonderful! The feeling of mystery starts the moment you arrive, ringing the doorbell of a building that makes you feel like you’re trying to get into a speakeasy or another sort of secret establishment. You walk into a dark entry and there we met Josh, who was extremely pleasant, helpful, and helped make the entire experience memorable. My group tried the Houdini room, which was a blast! We ended up finishing with 9 minutes to spare, after getting 3 very helpful clues from Josh. I’ve tried a couple other escape rooms places, but this was the best one I’ve ever done! We ended up trying the orient express one right after! I loved the logic behind the puzzles and feel the rooms were expertly set up. All in all, an amazing place!

"We're Addicted!"

My family had a great time…x2! We’ve done 2 of the rooms on separate occasions – Bonnie and Clyde & Houdini’s Hideout. The themes of the rooms were fun and puzzles challenging. The staff is very nice and positive. We’ve almost hit 20 escape rooms after this visit…we’re addicted! If you like puzzles and looking for some entertainment look into escape rooms and Architect Escape Rooms is a must to do!

"Impressed by the Production Value and the Creativity"

Great experience and atmosphere – came for a corporate team builder and the crew were professional and enthusiastic. We escaped from the Houdini room (using 2 hints) and I was impressed by the production value and the creativity of some of the puzzles we encountered. I’ve done a few escape rooms previously, and this room/company was definitely one of the better ones.
Parking is limited with street-only parking which is somewhat crowded in the area so I recommend budgeting extra time in case you need to park a bit far and walk. True to the promises on the website, there is a spacious and comfy indoor and outdoor lounge area with coffee available for all those who follow the “arrive 15 minutes early” instructions – this is a perk not seen in most rooms and only adds to the positive experience, escape or not!

"I'm Still Thinking About It Days Later"

I’ve done my fair share of escape rooms so my standards are a bit on the “picky” side now. I was pleasantly surprised, however, to find this gem in the valley. I’ve been here three times now and I can’t wait for more of their rooms to open. The first time I took my two kids, 8 and 11, and we did Bonnie and Clyde’s Great Getaway. Then I came back twice more for date nights and did Houdini’s Hideout and Orient Express. I’ll get right to the point.
PROS
– The customer service is exceptionally accommodating and friendly. From the first time I called to book, to the lounge drinks before and after our game, I was impressed.
– The rooms themselves meet the hype that I read before going in. I’d rank Houdini’s and Orient as my favs, followed closely by Bonnie and Clyde. Houdini is on the more difficult end.
– Not going to spoil anything but there’s some very cool and clever stuff in both Orient and Bonnie and I’m still thinking it about days later.
– The décor convincingly matched the thematic arrangement of each room, including real period pieces from their respective eras. This helped to get me totally absorbed in the experience as I progressed through the games.
– The puzzles themselves fit with the narrative, which is a major plus in my book. You know those films with the endings that catch you by complete surprise, and you walk out wanting to watch it all over again to enjoy the thrill for a second time? That’s the feeling I had solving the puzzles. They were challenging and mysterious, yet intuitive, and they engaged that creative part of my brain that gets me just wanting to do more and more.
– I really love how the games are customizable in terms of difficulty, so I was able to play them with my kids and then also with adults later.
– They have a comfy outdoor lounge that is just beautiful at night and when I went there I was able to enjoy drinks before the games (and even see a couple random celebrities).
CONS
– It is by appointment only, so you can’t just walk-in and expect to play something. I learned this the hard way my first time going. Tip: book ahead of time so you can get what you want, as they tend to fill up fast.
– Parking is metered until 8 pm, not much anyone can do about this. It cost us a couple bucks. On the plus side, it’s close to their building and safe, so it isn’t really an issue.

"Very Clever Puzzles and Challenges"

My friends and I have done a lot of escape rooms, and after doing their Houdini room we all agreed that it was in our top favorites, very clever puzzles and challenges of observation. Also cool is that it was built and operated by a lovely young couple named John and Jordana. It’s got a great setup and an awesome outdoor area, perfect place for a party or corporate event. We will definitely be back to try their other rooms. Thanks guys!

"Great Experience"

My family and i decided to check this place out. This was our first time trying these escape room and this one just recently opened up fairly close by. The staff was amazing, very fun and informative. We tried out the Houdini room and beat it with seconds to spare. Overall it was a great experience and ill definitely be going back to tackle the rest of the rooms they have available

"Everything Was Wonderful"

The staff kept our cake cool, let us have our little after-party in The Library and made the entire experience totally effortless. Reservations were easy and everyone we met was very nice and accomodating. The Houdini room was awesome!
My group loved finding clues and solving puzzles to unlock combination locks and, ultimately, the escape room door. The free group photo was a great touch. Thank you, Architect I can’t wait to come back with more friends and explore the other two rooms!

"More People Should Know About This Gem"

Wow! Back in March 2018, I played my 125th escape room in Orient Express with one other person. For a “low tech” room, I LOVE how everything made sense and was purposeful. The puzzles were logical. There are various number locks and key locks, but a nice variety. There is also reading involved, but not too much to where it gets frustrating.
Today, I played my 141st room in Houdini’s Hideout with two other people. I also very much enjoyed this room and I’d recommend it to others. I learned that they’ve made good changes in this room and in Orient Express since their opening. They are striving to bring the best experiences and it shows! Again, lots of locks and keys in this room, but they made it so fun, engaging, and immersive.
I can see seasoned players and first timers having a fun experience in both of these rooms! Looking forward to playing their third room and they have three more set to open in the future.
Kellen was our gamemaster back when we played Orient Express, but the owners ran our game for Houdini’s and you can see that they love what they do. Book their rooms today!

"Houdini Room Was Great!"

We did the Houdini room with 3 people. We have done a few escape rooms in the past. The room was fun, the challenges are manageable, most locks are key or combo. They allow unlimited hints, we asked for 3 or 4 with the monitor piping in once or twice when we stalled. Once you book a room for your group you will be the only ones in that room. Many other places will book a room to capacity. So, make sure you bring a large enough group to tackle the puzzles and clues.

"Decorated Really Well With Great Clues"

We gathered a group of six experienced Escape Room people and did the Houdini Room. Everything from the booking the evening via phone, to checking in, to the room itself, the logistics were easy and fun. The room is decorated really well with great clues.
I won’t give anything away about the actual room or clues, but we had 6 experts and we were able to get out in 39 minutes – but that’s cause we really worked as a team (and we’re super competitive). Also, since we had 6 people, we were the only ones in that room.
Note, that sometimes lighting in (any) escape rooms can be challenging, so bring reading glasses or a small flashlight.
Parking is on the street, but after 8 pm it’s free. We’ll definitely be back to try the other rooms.

"Loooooved it"

"Plethora of Puzzles"

I can now say that I have successfully completed all of the rooms here at Architect! We started with Houdini then did, Orient, and finally Bonnie and Clyde. I have enjoyed each and every one of their rooms! They are lower tech rooms but don’t let that fool you because there are a plethora of puzzles in each and every room! I would recommend this place to beginners and enthusiasts! The staff is super friendly and attentive! The waiting area is comfy and even stocked with refreshments, and if you’re lucky: Magic tricks!

"Warm Smiles By Everyone"

I had the pleasure of playing Houdini’s Hideout with my wife and daughter this weekend. After the hour of fun, we returned to the car and all agreed we had to write a review for the Great people at Architect Escape Rooms.
We were greeted with warm smiles by everyone there and our whole experience, our first escape room experience, was so pleasant. The staff was Very helpful and patient with us. And very sweet to my daughter. We will definitely be coming back again and again to play the other rooms and I urge everybody to do the same.

"Would Definitely Recommend This Place!"

We were looking for escape rooms in the valley and chose this company because they allowed private bookings. We did the Houdini themed escape room with 2 people and I thought it was a perfect level of difficulty. We both had a lot of escape room experience, so I think if it’s your first time with an escape room, a minimum of 4 people would be good for this room. Josh was our game master and he did a great job with giving just the right amount of hint to move us to the next step when we needed a clue. Would definitely recommend this place!

"We Escaped With 30 Seconds Left"

This was my first escape room and it was awesome! I don’t have anything to compare it to, but based on this experience we will definitely be back. My husband and I did the Houdini room and it was a lot of fun. We escaped with 30 seconds left. Josh was very friendly and helpful with the process (and the occasional clue!). It was easy to find and we had no problem finding parking on the street. I highly recommend it.

"What a Wonderful Time!"

We had to research the many Escape Rooms in LA to find the one that would suit our group of eight.
We needed a Room that would accommodate eight; we needed parking; we needed a location that all of us could get to; and one of our group needed accessibility.
We found it in Architect Escape Rooms.
What a wonderful time! This was all of our very first time and the room we reserved was Houdini’s Hideout, which we found out after was one of the most difficult.
It didn’t matter that we received many hints and help from the staff via walk-in talkie! It was so fun and we got so excited when we solved a clue.
All of the staff were so nice and helpful.
I highly recommend Architect Escape Rooms.

"Plenty for Everyone to Do"

I did the Orient Express escape room the other night with a group of 6 kids between the ages of 11 and 14. The room was so much fun and there was plenty for everyone to do. The space would probably be a little small for 7 adults but it worked fine with our group. The kids liked the room so much, we stayed and did Houdini’s Hideout. John and Josh were so helpful. They did a great job in setting the stage for the escapes. Will definitely be back to try the other room.
